Happy Pride 2012: Solidarity for Manchester and St. Petersburg!

I'm mid-pride and mid-moving house but just needed to post this update to, firstly, wish everyone a happy and safe Manchester Pride 2012 and to ask you to spare a moment to send a message of solidarity and support to our friends in St. Petersburg...

Manchester and St. Petersburg are twin cities and whilst Manchester celebrates yet another fabulous Pride festival, St. Petersburg's LGBT community are living under recently introduced draconian anti-gay laws.

Manchester City Council are asking residents of the city to send a message of support to the St. Petersburg LGBT community, via SMS! Text PRIDE and your message to 86099 stating your name and location and all texts will be sent to a St. Petersburg based LGBT group along with the banner that the Council held in today's Pride Parade after the event this weekend.
